LINK Groundbreaking Ceremony
With shovels in hand, the LINK Groundbreaking ceremony on March 12, 2015 kicked off the next phase of development. Congratulations to ROEM Development Corporation, Pacific Housing, Inc., Withee Malcolm Architects, LLP, and the entire team as this project moves into the construction phase.
LINK is a new, environmentally-sustainable (USGBC LEED-H Gold certification), mixed-use community located in Baldwin Park, CA. It is an affordable, multifamily apartment community and will offer 69 residential units to families making 60% or less of the Los Angeles County Area Median Income. The $27 million project also includes 5,500 square feet of retail space.
Earth Systems provided geotechnical consulting to the team, as well as testing during the grading of the site. It included infiltration testing and design of a SUSMP infiltration system to aid in the pursuit of LEED credits. During construction, Earth Systems is to provide special inspection and materials testing.
