Every day is Earth Day
However, today, Saturday, April 22, 2017, we take note. Celebrate an act of green. Engage in a campaign or plant a tree. March for science or reduce your footprint on our most precious resource … Earth.

47th Anniversary of Earth Day
Earth Day has been around for a long time. This year marks the 47th year of noting Earth’s importance. Furthermore, some might contest Earth and the environment are a little worse for the wear. Yet, Earth Day marks a distinct time of the year when we can gather together and discuss how we can do better. To quote Margaret Mead, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
Earth Day Origin
The first Earth Day celebrations started in the 1970s. Thousands of colleges and universities, as well as primary and secondary schools, started the movement. It is now observed in nearly 200 countries.
