Mr. R. Holt Gordon, Jr., Earth Systems’ Retiring Controller

After 21 years of professional service, R. Holt Gordon, Jr., controller with Earth Systems, retired this past December. Holt began his employ with Earth Systems in 1992 as accounting manager and was promoted to controller in October of 1996. During his tenure, he helped navigate the growth of Earth Systems in California to its current structure of 12 offices from San Jose to Bermuda Dunes.

In his younger years, Holt was a high school golfer, a wrestler, and a spring board diver. After high school he served as an Airborne Ranger in the Vietnam War. He was a distinguished graduate of the Non-Commissioned Officers Academy. After his military service, Holt graduated from San Jose State University, where he earned a BS in Accounting and Business Administration. He was a president of the Kiwanis Club in San Jose and served as a swim team director. Holt is still a golfer, and he has become an avid cycler, ballroom dancer, and bridge player, which should ensure that he will be as active in his retirement as he has been in all phases of life.

Of Holt, Jerry Brown, CFO and treasurer with Earth Systems, says, “He became a good friend rather quickly. He is an all-around good guy. I thank him for being a very trustworthy, loyal and conscientious co-worker for 21 years!”

Taking up the position of controller is Alexis Huebner, CPA. Alexis holds a BS in Business Administration from Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo and is the incoming president of the Central Coast Chapter of CalCPA. Her previous experience includes quality control analyst at APS Document Management Group and seven years at Glenn Burdette, CPAs, where she earned her CPA license and the title, tax manager. Earth Systems is pleased to welcome Alexis to our team.
