This matt slab, concrete pour started at 11 p.m and continued until 5 a.m. Most noteworthy, the pour took place at night to avoid traffic issues since the builders had to shut down the roads to all through traffic during that time period. As a result, the drone photos captured by Robbins|Reed illustrate the nighttime activities.
The Project
The project is within a predominantly pedestrian and bicycle-oriented location. It is off-campus from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Also, the project adds a bicycle lane to the adjacent property and a bus turnout on the main street to improve traffic flow. And, improvements to the intersection take shape by widening the turn lane on the corner.
The ground floor consists of a garage, retail space, bicycle parking, residential lobby and a cyclists lounge. Also, the garage features a parking lift system for the residents. Finally, the apartments consist of 2-bedroom and studio units. It is four stories in height and is designed to comply with the California Green Building Code.
